Dr. Wang received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering
from Columbia University. He then completed a post-doctoral research fellowship
in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (where he
received a NIH NRSA award). In 2005 Dr. Wang joined the faculty of the Department
of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center. He presently serves as
Director of the Rush Sports Medicine Research Lab where he extensively collaborates
with attending physicians within the Section of Sports Medicine. His independent
research program focuses on the characterization of biomechanical, morphologic, and
biologic properties of tendons and ligaments in their normal, injured, and healing states.
He maintains productive collaborations with faculty from the Rush Departments of
Internal Medicine (Rheumatology), Biochemistry and Neurological Sciences as well as
University of Illinois-Chicago (Bioengineering).
